Community Guidelines
Version 1.0 · Last updated: July 2026
Welcome to the Kythr community. Kythr LLC is committed to keeping Kythr a safe and respectful place for everyone. By using Kythr, you agree to these Community Guidelines, which are part of our Terms of Service. They apply everywhere on Kythr — your profile, activities, messages, and conduct at in-person meetups.
We take safety seriously. If we find that you have violated these Guidelines, we may remove content, warn you, restrict features, suspend your account, or permanently ban you from Kythr and our services, depending on the severity of the conduct and any previous violations. Serious violations may be reported to law enforcement.
Community Norms
- Not a dating app. Kythr is designed to help people meet through shared activities and plans. It is not a dating app, a hookup app, or a platform for sexual solicitation. Inappropriate sexual messaging, harassment, pressure, or misuse of messaging features may result in restrictions, suspension, or permanent account deactivation.
- Respectful communication. Treat all members with kindness and respect. Harassment, bullying, intimidation, threats, and stalking are strictly prohibited, as is sharing someone's private information without their consent.
- No hate speech. We do not tolerate hate speech or dehumanizing content based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic. This includes derogatory language or actions that create a hostile environment.
- Authenticity. Be genuine. Creating fake profiles, impersonating others, or using deceptive personas is not allowed, and neither is misrepresenting your age, location, or other personal details. One person, one account.
- Appropriate content. Do not share explicit, vulgar, or sexually provocative content. Sharing unsolicited explicit images or messages is strictly forbidden.
Prohibited Content and Conduct
The following are prohibited across Kythr, whether in the app or during in-person activities:
- Violence and misconduct. Acts of violence, threats, stalking, or any form of physical or sexual misconduct.
- Sexual content and conduct. Explicit, vulgar, or sexually provocative content, unsolicited explicit images or messages, and any sex work, pornography, or its promotion.
- Minors. Regardless of local law, individuals under 18 are not allowed on Kythr or at its activities. You may not use Kythr to share photographs of or information about anyone under 18, or to arrange contact with anyone under 18.
- Illegal content and activities. Engaging in or promoting illegal activity, including the sale or distribution of drugs or weapons.
- Fraud and scams. Deceptive or fraudulent activity, including requests for donations or financial support, lying about your intentions for financial gain, or attempts to deceive members out of money or property.
- Promotional or commercial content. Kythr is not a marketplace. Do not share unsolicited commercial or promotional content in the app or at activities.
- Spam and unsolicited content. Bulk messages, misleading links, or disruptive content.
- Off-purpose or mass messaging. Kythr is for planning and joining activities. Using the app primarily to message people with no genuine intent to plan or join an activity — including repeated low-effort outreach such as mass "hi/hey" messages — is prohibited and may result in restrictions or a permanent ban.
- Harmful content. Content that promotes or depicts self-harm or violence, realistic depictions of blood, bodily fluids, or injury, or images of weapons intended to threaten.
- Platform manipulation. Using technology to scrape content, interact with users or the app, or circumvent bans or restrictions, including bots, VPNs, or similar tools.
Profiles
- Your photo must be of you — not of any other person — and appropriate for a general audience.
- You must be at least 18 to use Kythr.
- Do not include sensitive information such as your phone number, home address, email address, or financial details in your bio.
- Your name must be your real name or a nickname you go by — not the name of another person.
- Do not use your profile to advertise or promote a business.
Messaging
- Protect your privacy. Do not share or request personal information such as phone numbers, addresses, or email addresses.
- Do not reveal where you live, your daily routine, or when you will be alone.
- Be careful with money. Kythr will never ask for your financial or account information. Anyone who does is running a scam.
- Keep planning in Kythr rather than moving to other channels, at least until you are comfortable, so there is a record if something goes wrong.
Activities and Meetups
- For Kythr users, 18 and over. No one under 18 may take part in an activity.
- Follow local laws, including rules on alcohol, controlled substances, and public disruption. If you are not certain an activity is permitted, do not do it.
- Meet in public, tell a friend or family member your plans, and trust your instincts.
- Post accurate details. Creators must give the correct place, time, and participant limit. Participants must review the details carefully before taking part. Do not post fake or misleading listings.
- Let people know if you cancel. Notify others promptly if you can no longer host or attend. Repeated last-minute cancellations or no-shows may result in account suspension.
- Manage your own costs. Participants are responsible for their own expenses. Kythr does not facilitate or handle payments between users.
- You participate at your own risk. Kythr is not responsible for the conduct or outcomes of in-person activities and does not vet users or venues. Follow our Safety Tips.
Blocking and Reporting
- In an emergency, contact your local emergency services or law enforcement first.
- Block a user, from their profile or a conversation, to stop them from contacting you or seeing your profile. Blocking is immediate.
- Blocking does not report. Blocking a user does not automatically report them. If someone violates these Guidelines, report them through the app for review.
- Report content or conduct you see in the app or at an activity right away.
- Do not misuse blocking or reporting to harass or inconvenience others — for example, repeatedly blocking and unblocking the same person. Misuse may result in suspension or termination.
